our story
as a solo printmaker working out of my home studio in new york city, i’m drawn to pieces that can make even the smallest rooms feel elegant. i started lucky stain because i think handmade work does just that. the block printing process naturally creates originals—unlike other, more efficient processes, no two block prints come out exactly alike. there are minor deviations in color, angle, and definition, and endless possibilities for new areas of interest in each piece. i love the idea of using a method honed by artists like picasso, escher, and kollwitz with dinner napkins, tea towels, and tablecloths, making date nights and dinner parties more delightful.

i was born and raised in new york city and studied philosophy at the city college of new york. i’m primarily a writer. you can read my work in publications including the baffler, the drift, and publishers weekly, where i was a current affairs critic for a year. in other lives i’ve worked in politics, tech, and media. lucky stain is my first business.
